Cathy Newman

I have been working with Dr. Z for 5 years, first as a diet coach, and now as a member of Dr. Z’s support team, training and educating coaches in over 85 clinics. With a BA in Behavioral Sciences, and coursework in gerontology, I’ve spent 15 years working with hospice and the elderly before discovering my true passion – transforming lives through weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. While devoting 20 years to raising three sons with my husband Phil, I was a tireless volunteer and fundraiser for various elderly organizations, schools and my church. An avid cook, I enjoy inspiring others to eat healthy, delicious and nutritious foods.

Karen Deblasio

I graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College West in 1998. With my medical background, I am a crucial member of the team, reviewing each of our client’s health profiles before they begin the weight loss protocol. I was first introduced to Ideal Protein when I noticed many of my clients dropping significant amounts of weight on the Ideal Protein protocol administered by Dr. Zumbado’s clinic, which was at the time sharing space with the wellness center where I practiced. In 2010, I lost 50 lbs in 4 months on the protocol and shortly after began exclusively coaching Ideal Protein with Dr. Zumbado. I celebrate my job daily and feel truly blessed to bring the same results that transformed my life to others.

Kathe Montgomery

In addition to compassionately coaching many of our clients, I am the administrative whiz who keeps the office running! I majored in dietetics while at the University of Maryland and always had an interest in cooking and nutrition. I lost 35lbs in 4 months on the protocol before joining up as a coach with Dr. Z in 2010. I have raised three children and stayed home for several years to homeschool them. Outside of Dr. Z’s, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, sewing, reading, walking, and cooking.

Renee Brodsky

I have 8+ years of coaching experience, and have a wellspring of knowledge regarding products and the issues and challenges that our clients face. I lost 25 pounds on the protocol in 2008, inspiring 12 family members, who lost between 10 and 85 pounds, to join the Ideal Protein community. When not coaching, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, skiing, hiking, bowling, and playing tennis.

Judy Furnish

A Coloradan by birth (and Broncos fan), I received my BA in Education and History from the University of Northern Colorado. A teacher by training, I have a kind and gentle approach, providing encouragement and instilling confidence in my clients. I have taught pre-school through high school, and even homeschooled my own children for a few years. I lost 30 pounds on the protocol in 2009 and joined the coaching staff in 2015. In addition to coaching at Dr. Z’s, I currently teach high school journalism at Covenant Life School and volunteers at the Newseum in Washington, DC.
